Human sufferings have grown exponentially in the last 100 years. Floods, cyclones tsunami, earthquakes, droughts, famines, epidemics and other vagaries of nature have taken their toll. Conflicts, wars, civil wars, unrest and terrorist activities also have rendered people homeless and stateless. Affected people need immediate relief and humanitarian assistance.
